Dr. Radoslovich performs chiropractic adjustments utilizing state of the art chiropractic techniques. Many of the newest chiropractic techniques are actually safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before. As a chiropractor who cares about utilizing the most advanced chiropractic techniques, Dr. Radoslovich has years of training, expertise and experience in helping patients get pain relief in conditions originating from the spine. The doctor will work with you to determine which technique or techniques works best to achieve optimal results.

Activator Methods Technique

The Activator Method uses a hand-held mechanical instrument to administer low force chiropractic adjustments.  It is a gentle technique and can be well tolerated by sensitive and/or older patients. The Activator is painless, very specific and extremely effective. This technique not only can be used on the spine, but is quite effective on the extremities and other joints, making it an ideal technique for athletes or the physically active individuals.  Its gentle nature makes it extremely comfortable, even for those injured on the job, in an automobile, or at home.

Correction of spinal misalignments or subluxations by the Activator Instrument is very fast, less than 20 milliseconds. The adjustment occurs before muscular reaction can be triggered as can be the case in other chiropractic techniques.

Impulse Adjusting Technique

Thousands of doctors around the world now use the Impulse Adjusting Instrument in the care of their pateints.  This patented and FDA registered device was specifically created to deliver gentle and precise chiropractic adjustments to the joints of the spine and extremities to relieve pain and restore function.  The Impulse Adjusting Instrument is controlled by micro-computer circuitry housed within the device that provides controlled treatments to the specific areas you're having trouble with.

Impulse adjustments are high-tech.  There are no popping or cracking with these adjustements, but rather very precise and targeted adjustements designed to specifically care for the right areas.  Years of research have gone into the development of the Impulse Instruments to create gentle chiropractic adjustments that are safe and effective for patients.

What does it feel like?  Adjustments with the Impulse Adjusting Instrument feel like a light tapping sensation on the area that is being treated.  In most cases the treatment is painless and after the adjustment my patients feel relief of pain and improved mobility. Others report a sense of well-being or a soothing calm feeling.

Low Level Laser Therapy (Cold Laser)

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) has a photochemical effect (like photosynthesis in plants). One of the main mechanisms of action occurs in the mitochondria (the cellular power plant inside every one of your bodies cells). The effect of Laser Therapy depends on the application of the correct wavelength and density of light, delivered to the target tissues for an appropriate period of time.

Healing is essentially a cellular process.  The energy transferred to the cell can increase its kinetic energy, and activate or deactivate enzymes or alter physical or chemical properties of the cells. The mitochondria are the "Powerhouse" of the cells and make ATP which is needed for the life enhancement process of every cell.  LLLT stimulates the cell activation process, which initiates a chain of reactions, from the cell membrane to the cytoplasm, to the nucleus and DNA. This is called cellular amplification.

LLLT of the correct wavelength and density allows your cells to produce ATP, the body's energy. As stress on cellular function is reduced and normal mitochondrial function is restored, cell metabolism is improved and the body is positioned for optimal healing.

The laser is absorbed at the cellular level into the mitochondria of the cell and may create changes such as the following:

1. Accelerates cellular reproduction and growth, increasing metabolic activity

2. Expedites wound healing/stimulates fibroblast development in damaged tissue.

3. Greater oxygen to blood cells/increased blood supply

4. Can stimulate immune function

6. Develops collagen and muscle tissue/reduces fibrous tissue formation

7. Reduces the formation of scar tissue following tissue damage from cuts, scratches, or following surgery

8. Reduces local inflammation/improves joint mobility

9. Stimulates nerve cell function

11. Increases the speed, quality and tensile strength of tissue repair

12. FDA cleared to relieve acute and chronic pain associated with the following conditions: low back pain, shoulder pain and heel pain (Plantar Fasciitis)

Unlike high power lasers that use heat to cut or burn tissue, low energy cold lasers boost biochemical reactions in the targeted tissue. Visible light is directed to a specific area, the light energy passes through the skin, and enters cell membranes by special light receivers. This increases the cells energy which results in changed cell membrane permeability. Several biological processes are then affected, such as ATP stimulation, that then initiates an increase in cell regeneration and protection, and decreases cell death.

The results for physical injuries and disorders include a reduction in swelling, an increase in tissue healing, reduction in pain, increased mobility, and maximum recovery.

Graston Technique

Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

Graston Technique decreases overall time of treatment, fosters faster recovery, and resolves chronic conditions thought to be permanent. GT is used by more than 16,000 clinicians worldwide, utilized at some 1,550 outpatient facilities and 39 industrial sites, by more than 234 professional and amateur sports organizations, and is part of the curriculum at 54 respected colleges and universities.

Webster Technique

The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation and SI joint dysfunction. Improving neuro-biomechanical function of the pelvis thereby restoring proper pelvic balance and function.

The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association recognizes that in a theoretical and clinical framework of the Webster Technique in the care of pregnant women, sacral subluxation may contribute to difficult labor for the mother (dystocia).  Dystocia is caused by inadequate uterine function, pelvic contraction, and baby mal-presentation. The correction of sacral subluxation may have a positive effect on all of these causes of dystocia and therefor allowing the baby to assume the best possible position for birth.

Dr. Webster reported that when pregnant mothers sought care and her baby was in a breech position, the restoration of pelvic neuro-biomechanics with this adjustment also frequently facilitated optimal fetal positioning.  There are cases published in the chiropractic literature that support this theory.

Corrective Exercises

At Chiropractic & Wellness Center of Stamford, we teach our patients how to perform specific exercises which help strengthen and correct the irregularities in their body which may be causing pain. Muscles and connective tissues that are too tight or weak put increased stress on the spine and joints, which causes injuries over time.  Strong muscles support and protect the joints and improve the effectiveness of your chiropractic care.  Many muscle imbalances are due to postural abnormalities: working all day hunched over a computer or long hours spent sitting/driving can negatively affect your posture.  With targeted corrective exercises and stretches along with neccessary ergonomic and lifestyle changes we can help to improve your posture and prevent further injuries.

Lifestyle Advice

Many of our patients come to see our chiropractor to address a specific pain symptom such as back pain, neck pain or headaches. While Dr. Radoslovich will address each patient's specific condition with chiropractic care, we often find it helpful to "coach" our patients towards achieving a healthier lifestyle. For example, there may be certain activities that you should avoid or do differently to prevent yourself from unintentionally aggravating your particular health challenges. The goal of including lifestyle advice with a chiropractic care plan is to help each and every patient achieve the fulfilling and happy lifestyle they deserve, one that is full of the activities that are enjoyed most. We recognize that every single one of our patients is a whole person, and we use our expertise to help them reach total health and wellness.

Nutritional Counseling

Chiropractic helps patients achieve total health, and as part of that goal we provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices. Nutritional counseling by our experienced chiropractic health professionals can assist a patient on which supplements are beneficial for optimal health? We can provide basic nutritional advise or develop a structured nutritional program that is based on their individual needs.
